International Roaming Day Packs

International roaming is available for SIM services through day packs which you can opt-in to by SMS while travelling.

What's Included?

International roaming day packs include unlimited calls and SMS within the country you're visiting and to/from Australia, along with 200MB of data.

Enabling Roaming

Before you leave Australia, log into https://my.maxo.com.au/ and select SIM Cards. Locate your SIM and from the Actions dropdown select SIM Options, then set International Roaming to On and click Update.

Activating a Day Pack

Once you arrive in your destination and your phone connects to one of our partner networks (this should happen automatically) you'll receive a text message offering to activate a day pack.

Respond to this text with the word Roam to add on the day pack and your service will start working within 15 minutes.

If you use up your 200MB data, you can add another 200MB by again texting Roam in reply to the activation message or directly to 179

Charges

Each day pack that's activated by texting Roam to 179 will incur a day-pack fee as detailed in https://my.maxo.com.au/

There is no charge for receiving the roaming welcome message, and roaming charges will not apply if you do not activate roaming by replying to the text/texting 179.

The Country I'm Visiting Isn't Listed

Unfortunately at this time we're not able to provide roaming in countries other than those listed above and you'll instead need to pick up a local SIM for the destination country.

If your device supports WiFi calling and you're connected to a compatible WiFi network, you can continue to make and receive both calls and SMS over WiFi.

I Didn't Receive the Welcome Message

1. Please enable airplane mode for a couple of minutes then disable to have your phone rejoin the network.
2. Check that your phone is configured with automatic provider selection:
   1. iPhone: Settings > Mobile / Mobile Data > Network Selection > Automatic
   2. Android: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Select Automatically
3. If your phone is connected to the network but you still haven't received the welcome text, you can try texting Roam to 179
4. If your phone shows no network, you may need to manually choose our partner network operator from the table below.

Which Partner Networks Can I Roam On?
