How quickly can I get up and running?

Often you can be up and running on your new MaxoTel service on the same day, however some factors (such as shipping handsets and porting your existing phone number) can take longer.

Account Activation

The account setup process is completely automatic, although every account is manually reviewed shortly after it is created. After you sign up you must make a payment to initialise your prepaid balance. From there, you can choose a plan. The pro-rata plan fee will be deducted from your initial balance. After you have added funds to your account, you are all set to make calls.

On your first call, you will be automatically redirected to a verification program which will record you saying your name, address and landline number. This is for verification purposes and must be done - if you do not complete the verification procedure correctly, your account may be suspended. You cannot make a call until you have done this verification procedure.

Number Porting

If you want to bring your existing phone number to MaxoTel, it may take a few days, to a few weeks, depending on the type of number or numbers. Please see our Number Porting FAQ KB article for more information.

Shipping

If you order handsets from us, shipping to metro areas typically takes 2-3 business days. It may take longer in regional areas. Sometimes there can be minor delays if a handset is not in stock at the time of your order, but we'll keep you informed of any such delays.
