How to add a Data Pool?

Take advantage of Data Pooling to share data between MaxoSIMs on the same account!

What you need to know

  • You can have multiple Data Pools on your account, however there is a $7.95 setup charge - so make sure you don't add unnecessary pools by accident!
  • There is no Data Banking for pools or pooling sims (the data in the pool expires at the end of billing period - 27th of each month)
  • Only Pooling SIM Plans can be assigned to Data Pools
  • SIMs must be activated on a pooling SIM plan before they can be assigned to a Data Pool
  • Up to 300 Pooling SIMs can be assigned to a Data Pool
  • When assigning a SIM, all of the unused data remaining for the current billing period, is moved to the pool.
  • When unassigning a SIM, it will have no data allowance until the start of the next billing period. In order to use data on that SIM before the next billing period, a once-off Bolt-On or plan upgrade is required.
  • When changing plan from a non-pooling plan to a pooling plan, any previously data inclusions for the current period are forfeited, including banked data. Schedule a plan change for the end of the billing period to avoid forfeiting the current month's data inclusions.

Step 1. Create a Data Pool

Select "Create a new Data Pool", if you do not have one already. It can take up to 20 minutes to become available for assignment.

Step 2. Ensure the Services you want to Assign to the Pool are on Pooling Plans

Pooling plans have "Pool" in the plan name. It is not possible to assign a non-pooling SIM to a Data Pool. You will need to Change Plan first.


Step 3. Assign the SIM to your Data Pool

When your Data Pool is ready, and your SIM is activated onto a Pooling Plan, the 'Add to Pool' link will appear on the service. Click the Link and Select the pool from the list. It can take up to 20 minutes to assign to pool.

Your SIM will display "Pooled" in the Portal, once the assignment process is complete.
