Using WiFi and Bluetooth on Yealink Phones

All Yealink handsets we supply are capable of Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. For the T5X series phones (T53W, T54W, etc.), these features are built in. On the T4X series (T42, T46, etc.), you'll need the appropriate USB adapter for either bluetooth or WiFi.

So we can provide accurate instructions, please select your phone model:

T42, T46, T48 and T53W WiFi and Bluetooth Setup

Connecting to a WiFi Network

Please note that due to possible WiFi interference, we recommend using an ethernet connection wherever possible.

For T4X models, including T42, T43, T46 and T48 you will need the appropriate WiFi adapter dongle for your phone before you can use WiFi. Firmware updates may also be required.

  1. Connect the Wi-Fi dongle to the phone's USB port (Not required for T53W).

  2. Dismiss the Yealink WiFi Assistant notification (if shown)

  3. Press the Menu soft key.

  4. Navigate to Settings.

    Navigation tip: Use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu and Enter to confirm your selection.

  5. Enter into Basic/Basic Settings.


  6. Select Wi-Fi, you may need to scroll down to see this option.


  7. While Wi-Fi is highlighted, use the left/right arrow keys to toggle the setting On. Press Save.


  8. Scroll down and Select X Available Networks. If no networks are available, press scan to complete a new network scan.


  9. Highlight your wireless network, then press Connect.


  10. Enter your Wi-Fi Password and press OK.

    Note: You can change the key mode by toggling the abc/ABC/2aB/123 key. Special characters can be entered by using the * key while in ABC/abc/2ab mode.

Once connection is successful, you will see the Wi-Fi icon in the icon bar at the top of the screen.

Connecting to a Bluetooth Device

For T4X models, including T42, T43, T46 and T48 you will need the appropriate bluetooth adapter dongle for your phone before you can use bluetooth. Firmware updates may also be required.


To connect your Yealink phone to a bluetooth device, for example a bluetooth headset, first ensure you have the the Bluetooth dongle connected to the phone's USB port (except T53W), then enable bluetooth:

  1. Connect the WiFi dongle to the phone's USB port (Not required for T53W).

  2. Press the Menu soft key.


  3. Navigate to Settings.


    Navigation tip: Use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu and Enter to confirm your selection.

  4. Enter into Basic/Basic Settings.


  5. Select Bluetooth, you may need to scroll down to see this option.


  6. While Bluetooth is highlighted, use the left/right arrow keys to toggle the setting On. Press Save.


  7. Place the device you would like to connect into pairing mode. You may need to consult your device's manual for instructions on doing this.

  8. On the Yealink phone, press Scan.


  9. Once your device appears in the list of available Bluetooth devices, use the arrow keys to highlight it and then press Connect.


    Once connection is successful, you will see the Bluetooth icon in the icon bar at the top of the screen.



T54W WiFi and Bluetooth Setup

Connecting to a WiFi Network

Please note that due to possible WiFi interference, we recommend using an ethernet connection wherever possible.

  1. Dismiss the Yealink WiFi Assistant notification (if shown)

  2. Press the Menu softkey.


  3. Navigate to Basic and press Enter.


  4. Select Wi-Fi and press Enter.


  5. Highlight Wi-Fi and use the left/right arrow keys to select ON and then press Save.


  6. Select X Available Networks and press Enter. If you do not see any available networks, press Scan to re-scan for available networks.


  7. Highlight your wireless network and then press Connect.


  8. Enter your Wi-Fi Password and press Connect.

    Note: Enabling show password will allow you to review your password as you type. You can change the key mode by toggling the abc/ABC/2aB/123 key. Special characters can be entered by using the * key while in ABC/abc/2ab mode.



Your network will now show a tick confirming connection.


This can also be seen at any time from the main screen of the phone. The Wi-Fi symbol at the top of the phone will also show the signal strength.

Connecting to a Bluetooth Device

For confirmed Bluetooth compatibility with Yealink phones, check the Yealink website.

  1. Press the Menu softkey.


  2. Navigate to Basic and press Enter.

    Navigation tip: Use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu and Enter to confirm your selection.

  3. Select Bluetooth and press Enter.


  4. Highlight Bluetooth and use the left/right arrow keys to select ON, then press Save.


  5. Place the device you would like to connect into pairing mode. You may need to consult your device's manual for instructions on doing this.

  6. On the Yealink phone, Press Scan.


  7. Once your device appears in the list of available Bluetooth devices, highlight your device and press Connect.


The device will be confirmed connected when a tick appears next to the device.

T56, T57 and T58 WiFi and Bluetooth Setup

Connecting to a WiFi Network

Please note that due to possible WiFi interference, we recommend using an ethernet connection wherever possible.

  1. Dismiss the Yealink WiFi Assistant notification (if shown)

  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.


  3. Tap on Settings.


  4. Scroll down to the Basic Settings area and choose Wi-Fi.


  5. Select On from the Wi-Fi field.


  6. Tap on your wireless network.

    Note: If you cannot see your network from the list, tap on the 3 dots and tap scan. The list of available networks will refresh.



  7. Enter your network password and Tap Connect.

    Note: Tap the icon to see your password as you type.

Once connected to your network, The Wi-Fi icon will highlight and the status will show as Connected.

Connecting to a Bluetooth Device

For confirmed Bluetooth compatibility with Yealink phones, check the Yealink website.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.


  2. Tap on Settings.


  3. Choose Bluetooth from the Basic Settings area.


  4. Select On from the Bluetooth field.


  5. Place the device you'd like to connect into pairing mode. You may need to consult your device's manual for instructions on doing this.

  6. Select the Scan button at the top right of the Bluetooth window.


  7. Once your device appears in the list of available Bluetooth devices, select your device to Connect.

Once connected to your Bluetooth device, The icon will highlight and the status will show as Connected.
